At the top
- Why it has its current status, in one sentence: how much is left, how much you sell per week, and how long the supplier takes.
- In store: stock plus what's on the way.
- Forecast sales per week.
- To order now.
The chart
- The blue line is your weekly sales over the last year.
- The dashed orange line is what we expect you to sell in the coming weeks.
- The orange band is the likely range: actual sales will normally fall inside it.
How we calculate the order
The four steps, using that product's numbers. See How the suggested order is calculated.
Technical details
- Sales pattern: steady, irregular in quantity, occasional, or seasonal (yearly).
- Forecast method: the one that was most accurate for that product.
- Error over the last 8 weeks: how far the forecast was from actual sales, as a percentage of what was sold. This is the error for that product in that store each week; for the whole company over a month it's usually much smaller, because the errors cancel each other out when you add them up.
- Importance (ABC) and variability (XYZ): X steady, Y variable, Z highly variable.
- Reorder point: when stock falls below this level, it's time to order.
